This was a fascinating revelation, particularly since my friends in Germany have been talking for years about the deeply held anti immigrant feeling there, particularly in the former Eastern Germany areas. In France, a French friend who is married to an African has told me of her husband being stopped multiple times in his car for no cause other than that he is black. The Paris suburbs are hotbeds of immigrant unhappiness over their treatment in France. If one's name is Mohammed or if one has an address in certain banlieus, it's nearly impossible to get a good job or place to live. Sooooo…just recruiting in Africa and Asia won't solve the skilled labor problems in the EU. Attitude change is needed before immigrants feel welcome in the EU.
