Now in its 24th season, the award winning Great Decisions Television Series is the longest running television program devoted solely to international affairs and foreign policy, now airing in high-definition. The Great Decisions Television Series is broadcast each year on PBS stations nationwide. Each show offers a wide variety of expert analysis and opinion in order to examine all sides of a foreign policy issue in 2009, with host Ralph Begleiter, former world affairs correspondent for CNN. feedback info@fpa.org NOTE: In the Great Decisions program From Pharaohs to Facebook: Egypt Today, guest Kenneth Roth of Human Rights Watch refers to a discussion with an unnamed U.S. ambassador to Egypt in which the ambassador discusses the difficulty of pressing human rights issues when the U.S. is accused by some of violating human rights in its prosecution of the fight against global terrorism. Please note that the ambassador he refers to is not Ambassador Frank Ricciardone, who appears in the program. In fact, Ambassador Ricciardone repeatedly raised the cited human rights case, among many others, with the highest levels of Egyptian Government. |
