The Equality of Education

“Education, then, beyond all other devices of human origin, is the great equalizer of the conditions of man, – the balance-wheel of the social machinery.”  – Horace Mann (1796,1859) American educational reformer, member of the U.S. House of Representatives (1827-1833) and Senate (1834-1837).

Education is truly the key to equality, and with equality one will find prosperity. If we are to see a future of hope for the world's children then we must see that all children are given equal access to a free, fair and adequate education. Currently there are some 72 million children around the globe who remain without access to such an education, that is some 72 million adults who's lives will remain riddled with inequality, some 72 million potential leaders who's futures may be lost. This is not the loss of some 72 million individuals, but a collective loss for entire communities, nations and our global community. Education is the most sustainable investment that one can ever receive, an education once given can never be denied, can never be taken back.

Education equals Equality and Equality equals Prosperity!
