Pal. Unity Talks Progress

 Even though the United States pledged $900 million for Gaza reconstruction and to assist the Palestinian Authority, Congress may not approve the funding unless its recipients acknowledge Israel’s right to exist, a valid concern if Fatah and Hamas reunite. Palestinian reconcilliation talks are “60-percent” complete and may conclude by next Wednesday. Dr. Yasser Al Wadeya, a delegate at the conference, expressed optimism for Palestinian unity following the talks.

The number of protestors to next month’s anti-racism conference, Durban II, is on the rise, with Australia threatening to withhold a delegation and join Israel, Italy, Canada, and the United States. 

Lockheed Martin faces pressure from the Israeli government to subcontract Israeli firms in the production of the F-35 fighter jet. Possible subcontractors include Israel Military Industries, Rafael, and Israel Aerospace Industries.
