Israelis vacationing this week on the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt faced an unexpected addendum to their trip- a Hezbollah cell intent on murdering tourists in the resort towns of Dahab, Taba, and Nuweiba using a variety of techniques, including car bombs. Egyptian officials apprehended cell members after obtaining a tip from the Israeli Mossad Intelligence Agency. Under questioning, the arrested men stated that their sole purpose remained striking at Israelis, not supplying Hamas with munitions. For the better part of the week, Egypt began searching for the terrorists and decried Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah as a puppet of the Iranian regime, thereby eliciting a response from the terror mastermind. Some analysts contend that even though the Egyptian arrests remain positive for Israel, the Egyptian government undertook the endeavor in order to ensure internal stability seeing that the Muslim Brotherhood continues to increase its prominence. Unrelatedly, an Libyan resident of Nuweiba stabbed an Israeli resident in the face before the victim obtained treatment in the nearby Israeli city of Eilat.
