The Children of Tomorrow

The Children of Tomorrow“We worry about what a child will be tomorrow, yet we forget that the child is already someone today.”
-Stacia Tauscher

In a world that is increasingly fast paced we focus on today and we rarely look past the moment at hand, towards tomorrow and what will come following. However it is this inability to focus on the future that so often hinders the aid and development of children, especially children in need. While it is necessary to come in and provide emergency aid in situations, we can not just throw relief at a problem and walk away, for what happens to the child when it is gone. Sustainable solutions must always be a priority, for if we look only at the moment at hand we will only save a child today, and risk loosing twice as many children tomorrow. To educate a child for a year is wonderful, but they need education for a lifetime, to feed one who is hungry for a month is essential, but they need not go hungry again, therefore it is crucial that programs of education, health and aid look to the future, as it is true what they say; “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”
