Obama’s Speech in Cairo
Wow, yes, wow, what a speech. Obama’s speech in Cairo was truly an astonishingly refreshing speech by Obama, President of the United States of America. I honestly believe that Obama’s words should give comfort to those who are suspicious of America. Obama was honest, open and he is genuine. After listening to his heartwarming speech, I have not doubt that Obama would follow through on his promise of a new beginning.
It will take time for majority of Pakistan to fully comprehend the speech as the speech will be translated in local languages, opinion writers would write about it, T.V anchors would discuss it and after couple of days, the entire nation is going to absorb the essence of the speech and react, and react positively.
For now, as for as my interaction with folks on the ground goes, I have heard nothing but praise and confidence that Obama is really serious about bridging the gap with the Muslim world and he is also serious in his attempts to repair America’s image.
Obama on his part has done what many of us believe to be more then enough. Now, it is time for the Muslim world to do its part and make an effort to connect with America.
