Really? The Namibian newspaper is reporting that Sam Nujoma, the founding President of Namibia, is condemning attempts to legalize prostitution in the country.
Nujoma claims that prostitution never has been part of the the African people’s culture, but was brought to the continent by Africa’s colonial powers. He is quoted saying, “we have destroyed colonialism, why should we maintain it [prostitution]. “They [those advocating the legalising of prostitution] better pack up and go with colonialism.”
Nujoma’s remark follows a public outcry sparked by Minister of Youth and Sport Kazenambo Kazenambo’s comments favoring the legalization of prostitution in Namibia.
