Yes, The Mossad Is That Good

The Israeli clandestine service, the Mossad, has been criticized of late for some perceived setbacks. For example, the hit on a Hamas-affiliated terrorist in the Gulf was widely attributed to Israel because some of the assassins were videotaped and their passports were identified. In the Mossad’s past strikes, the clandestine agency left no traces, therefore the Gulf assassination was regarded by some as suggesting that Israel’s secret service is beginning to fall apart (I, for one, think the Mossad wanted to get caught to show Israel’s enemies around the world that there is no safe haven from the long, deadly reach of the Mossad).

Well, regardless of the criticisms of some Israelis that the Mossad is a joke, some Egyptians tend to disagree and actually have high praise for the capabilities of the Mossad. They contend that Israeli-trained sharks have resulted in a spate of terror attacks on tourists off the Egyptian coast. Those conspiracy theorists think Israel is attempting to reduce tourism dollars to Egypt by instilling fear in beach lovers. Well, the theory is most certainly absurd, and Stephen Colbert had some fun with it and it’s worth a watch.
