Reminiscing about Peace - Israel's Founding Fathers
News broke recently from various outlets that Israel has been providing training and non-lethal supplies for Jewish settlers in Palestine to defend themselves from an expected onslaught of unrest during the days surrounding Palestine’s bid to seek official recognition from the UN in September. Palestine’s attempt at recognition, while doomed at the outset because of the US’ asinine, ideological intransigence, will amount to nothing – it’s not as if the issue stopping the international community from reigning in Israel is the lack of Palestinian statehood (over 100 states already recognize Israel).

The move would provide Palestine with an acting role in the UN, which would aggravate Israel, but only serve a symbolic purpose. Nonetheless, grandstanding Bibi knows how to corral his lackeys well and has threatened dire consequences. It’s no surprise, thus, to see that tensions have heated up between the two parties – Israel and Palestine – with every attempt being made to portray Palestinians as zealots and terrorists that will stop at nothing to regain their land.

Oh Bibi, gone are the honorable, peaceful days of the Stern Gang and the Irgun, Israel’s founding fathers. (Photo, the Irgun’s massacre at Deir Yassin, 9 April 1948).
