Tomorrow is Make a Difference Day: What are you doing?

Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does. -William James

Tomorrow, Saturday October 22, 2011 is Make a Difference Day. What will you be doing to make a difference in the lives of others?

Make A Difference Day is a national day dedicated to helping others. Each year on the fourth Saturday of October, millions of Americans rally to create change and impact lives for a single day of action dedicating to making a lasting and positive affect on the world.  Everyone can participate and millions have. In 2009, 3 million people cared enough about their communities to volunteer on that day, accomplishing thousands of projects in hundreds of towns. Your project can be as large or as small as you wish! Look around your community and see what needs to be done. Or use the ideas on this site for inspiration.

I will be at the DC Stop Modern Slavery Walk, with my non-profit organization, Bridge to Freedom Foundation (BTFF), an official partner of the walk. If you haven’t found your cause, then please come join BTFF and our anti-trafficking partners along with a few thousand supporters to make a difference to survivors of modern slavery and bring an end to this heinous crime against humanity.

You can find other ideas for projects to get involved with on the Make a Difference site.  Another really great site for young people to learn more about various causes and how they can become involved is DOSomething.org, which has both resources, including on human trafficking, and various suggestions on how to take action.

So don’t delay, do something today!  Make a difference and you will quickly feel the difference, as there is no better reward than knowing you made a difference, even if only for the life of one person.
