Bill Clinton on Haiti, Globalization

Remember the multi-syllabic deprived days of 2006? I sure do, and I don’t think I am alone. A good many people seemed to despair when an American leader stood up in front of an audience only to throw out some obtuse generalization. Awkward phrases and K-5 conceptualizations were par for the course. Then Bill Clinton sat for an interview with Fox News. He was articulate, extemporaneous, and combative.

Things have gotten much better since those dark days. But Clinton hasn’t disappeared. Even with the revival of intelligent discourse his ability to remark on world affairs with clarity and insight greatly impresses me. On that note, check out this recent interview on PBS newly launched Need to Know. Clinton fields an array of questions, but he hits on two issues directly relevant to Latin America: Haiti, and the meaning of globalization.
