After a run of over five years and 750+ posts, it’s time for me to move on from the Foreign Policy Association blog “Climate Change.” In this time, I’ve tried to bring you some perspective on one of the most important issues of our age. I am a proud tree hugger, certainly, but I believe the insight I’ve brought to bear here on the science, politics, and economics of climate change, energy and the environment, and sustainability have reflected the best current thinking on these themes. I have tried to make readers think about and understand what’s at stake. From my first post on March 5th, 2007 until the last, I’ve endeavored to bring you what’s true, new, important and interesting. It’s been a good run. I hope you’ve found some useful reading along the way.
One of the things I’ve seen and reported on over these past five years is that, along with the tremendous environmental challenges that exist, there are extraordinary developments that are reshaping how we do business – in energy, transportation, agriculture, building and across an array of other key sectors. That is the reason I’ve written a book, A Newer World – Politics, Money, Technology, and What’s Really Being Done to Solve the Climate Crisis. It will be out this coming December from the University Press of New England. I’ve created a website and blog for the book and to continue the writing and reporting I’ve been doing here: A Newer World. I hope you’ll join me there.
