Wandering the Streets of Ashrafieh

Today I went to Sassine in Ashrafieh and after the meeting, I thought of wandering the streets close to the ABC Mall. The weather is not as hot as before, though humid [and yes  I still hate it] and anyway I needed some time off from work….

I absolutely loved the experience and Ashrafieh is gorgeous! I have seen most of the neighborhood from the car, and I meet friends for lunch / dinner etc, but I never lived there. It just happened to live in Hamra and now close to Hamra, a mix area, but predominantly Muslim. Ashrafieh is a Christian area.

I had my Sony, but the place is so beautiful, that I wanted to just enjoy the walk. Next time, I will bring the big guns, so to say, and take pictures. The architecture of the buildings is a merge of European & Mediterranean elements. Few of the buildings were really nice!

I was not really lost because I know the area, but it felt good to discover new things. I remember passing at some point through the building number 613, and then Il Siciliano ristorante [I have to try the pastas], and then Abdel Wahab [the food is very good there] and then I went down next to Tribeca and into the main road.

The idea was to walk for no more than 10 minutes and get back to work, but the streets were rather quiet, no service [shared taxi], no cabs, so I walked for far more than 10 min.

I love photography [thanks O] but I just did not have time to do most of the things that I enjoy doing away from work. Hopefully, in one of the coming weekends, I will have time to repeat the experience at a bigger scale and document it through pictures.
