The World Bank International Essay Competition 2009 on Climate Change is open to those youth ages of 18 and 25, from all countries of the world. Prizes range from US$200-US$3,000 for winning entries. Just tell the world;
1. How does climate change affect you, your country, town or local community? How do you think it will affect you in the future? Think about the consequences for employment, health, security and other areas of your life.
2. What can you do, working together with your peers, to address the problem of climate change in your country, town or local community? The American Foreign Service Association National High School Essay Contest is open to all high school students whose parents are not in the United States Foreign Service; you do not need to be an American Citizen to enter this contest. The winner will receive $2500 and a trip to Washington, DC with three members of their family. The winner's school will also receive $500. In 750 to 1,000 words:Analyze and explain what you think will be the challenges facing the American Foreign Service in the 21st century.

The 2009 Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) International Essay Competition, is open to students and young professionals aged 18-30. Special weight will be given to essays submitted by citizens of non-OECD countries. A $1,000 honorarium will be given for each winning essay. Topic categories for the competition include:Citizenship in a Democratic Society; What needs to be done to develop a sense of citizenship in young people and help them realize their role in a democratic society?
Educational Reform and Employment Opportunities; How can you reform your country's education system so that graduates have the necessary skills for employment in the public and private sectors?
Entrepreneurship and Leadership; What needs to be done in your country to provide youth with the opportunity to become entrepreneurs and/or leaders in their communities?
