As if you need an excuse, this weekend’s New York Times travel section features Cape Town as a destination, emphasizing all of the wonderful aspects of the city and its environs, but also the relatively inexpensive costs (from the vantage point of a reader of the Times‘ travel section, anyway). For South Africans the idea of Cape Town as a cheap travel destination will seem absurd, but these things are relative.
