He's Still Mad

Amb. Chas Freeman, who withdrew his nomination to chair the National Intelligence Council amidst criticisms that he does not support Israel, came out swinging against his opponents and their attacks. Notably, he questions the need for U.S. loyalty of Israel due to changed values between the two nations, based in part on the recent election results and the make-up of the Likud-led coalition. He states:

“It’s a foreign country, and while maybe 40 years ago many of its values were convergent with ours, I think there’s been a divergence of values… I think the values in Israel are deeply disturbing now to many in the Jewish community, as well.”
