Reuters 'postcards' to Obama

Reuters, a leading news and financial agency, recorded short videos of individuals in cities around the globe at the end of 2008, asking for postcard-length messages to the new U.S. President.

Here is the postcard from Havana, with responses to the question: What message would you give to Obama?

The answers:

“Obama, you are the hope of thousands of people that things will be better in the world, that you will stop the war, and that the Cuban-United States relationship will maybe be better in the future. We hope for that.”

“I hope there is an improvement for Cuba, for the world; may our presidents unite to help the world progress. I am also hoping for an end to the war, that the money and economy of the United States be for the people and not to send bombs to Iraq or Afghanistan as they have been doing.”

“My message to the new president would be to end the war in Iraq and Afghanistan and to end the embargo that the United States has in place against Cuba which impedes us to further develop as a free country.”

“The message I have for the new U.S. president is to eliminate the injustices that are being committed around the world, he has the power to do it, he (Obama) can do it.”
