Violence

afghan-civilian-casualties

I don’t normally use this blog to discuss specific violent attacks in Afghanistan, but these incidents are becoming appalling to read about, I can’t imagine living them. In a series of attacks yesterday, over 25 Afghan civilians, security officials, and government figures were killed. The provincial mayor of the eastern province of Laghman was killed along with his bodyguards and several civilians by a teenage suicide bomber. Instead of being in school he was busy killing himself and others. In another bloody, hard to reason, incident twelve civilians, 4 women, 2 children, and six men, were killed when their vehicle hit a landmine planted by the Taliban.

It is incredibly sad and distressing to know that yet another Afghan generation will group surrounded by violence and war.
