“EACH DAY HUMBLE SUPPLIES ENOUGH ENERGY TO MELT 7 MILLION TONS OF GLACIER!”

Slightly off topic, though worthwhile nonetheless, is this 1960s advertisement for Humble Oil, the predecessor of Exxon U.S.A.  Best viewed in its largest size, as the text is just as raunchy as the accompanying slogan.  A retrospective that is so right and so wrong.

James Fallows looks back on the Obama trip to China and demonstrates that it was an overwhelming success, contrary to the “manufactured failure”  delivered by U.S. media.  He accuses the White House press corps of being short-sighted and negatively distorting the progress that was made on issues such as Iran, North Korea, currencies and climate change.

“…Ten days after the trip’s completion, the apparent results are closer to the high end of what the Administration could reasonably have expected than to the across-the-board humiliation and disappointment that ‘analyses’ of the trip generally proclaimed.”
