Authorization Bill Kills Big US Defense Programs

General Dynamics Wins $16M US Defense Contract
General Dynamics’ Information Technology arm has won a five-year $15.6m contract from the Department of Defense’s Defense Acquisition University (DAU) to support the DAU learning asset program.

New Submarine on Sea Trials
The New Mexico (SSN 779), the sixth submarine of the U.S. Navy’s Virginia class, has successfully completed the first two rounds of builder’s sea trials and, if an upcoming sea trial by the Navy’s Board of Inspection and Survey passes muster, Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding expects to deliver the sub to the Navy before the end of the year.
