Resource Watch: PacNet

I opened my email today to find, once again, a thoughtful and thought-provoking piece of commentary from PacNet, the  newsletter maintained by the Center for Strategic and International Studies’s Pacific Center in Hawaii. Since signing up a year ago I have consistently enjoyed fresh looks on political affairs in the Asia-Pacific and have often found PacNet a step ahead of mainstream commentary on the Asia Pacific. Though the commentary seems to be generated by a small cadre of CSIS Pacific Center insiders, and could certainly benefit from more diversity in its commentary, I’ve relied on it heavily in my own efforts to interpret and analyze political trends in East Asia.

The PacNet newsletter isnt widely linked to in the blogosphere, and thus strikes me as an under-utilized resource. But I could be wrong.

Whatever the exposure, anyone eager to keep abreast of political trends in East Asia and analysis coming from predominantly Western commentators should sign up for the free Newsletter here.

I would also say the same for the more recently launched East Asia Forum.
