Recognizing An American Ally

Sorry for the lack of posts lately, I’ve been doing some traveling. I’m trying to get back into my regular routine but posting may be infrequent for a few days as I settle in. I would like to note this video report from MSNBC that highlights the efforts and sacrifices made by one of our allies fighting with us in Afghanistan. As you know, NATO forces are fighting in Afghanistan, but many NATO members place restrictions on the role their forces can play. Many do not engage in direct contact with the Taliban. Many other nations have also contributed small units to the fight. Most observers agree that the U.S., Canadian, and British forces are most directly engaged and have suffered  many casualties. As Canada plays host to the Olympics it’s worthwhile to note that our good neighbor to the north has been a strong ally. It should always be a part of the U.S. role in the world to support our allies and return the favor when they support us.
