This is wild and unexpected – your humble blogger spent a summer over there working with Internews, an independent free media advocate. It’s 5 years since they overthrew their last autocrat, but turned out to be a bummer of a case of new-boss-same-as-the-old-boss.
We will see what, if any, impact new media and social networking had in this poor and low-tech country – but for me sitting at the edge of my seat Twitter has proven its worth in keeping up-to-the-instant on updates.
