Human Rights Watch International Film Festival Features Two Afghan Films

If you are in the New York Area, I recommend checking out these two films at the Human Rights Watch International Film Festival being held at the Lincoln Center:

CAMP VICTORY, AFGHANISTAN explores the reality of building a functioning Afghan military; RESTREPO chronicles the deployment of a platoon of US marines in Afghanistan’s Korengal Valley, one of the most dangerous postings in the US military. You can find more information at http://www.hrw.org/iff

Though I haven’t seen either yet they sound intriguing and definitely worth watching. Hopefully they will shed some light on a topic that as I discussed yesterday (here’s another sign) is starting to fade from America’s public view.
