The New America Foundation and the Heinrich Böll Foundation are pleased to host Imtiaz Gul, a Pakistani journalist and author of the newly-released book The Most Dangerous Place: Pakistan’s Lawless Frontier, which surveys Pakistan’s wild tribal regions that serve as headquarters of al-Qaeda and the Taliban.

Please join the Homeland Security Policy Institute for a special event featuring Philip Mudd as he reflects on his career in counterterrorism. During his tenure in the federal government, Mudd played a pivotal role in America’s counterterrorism efforts – including service as the first Deputy Director of the FBI’s National Security Service and as Deputy Director of the CIA’s Counterterrorist Center. Mudd will discuss the use of intelligence to combat terrorism and the evolution of the terrorist threat facing the United States.
