Ahmanidejad's Trip To Lebanon

The Iranian president is conducting a tour through Lebanon, in hopes of shoring up support for Iran, and likely as a show of “strength” to his western adversaries. What’s surprising here is Ahmadinejad was invited by the Lebanese prime minister who heads a “pro-western” coalition, knowing how much controversy this visit would spark.

Ahmanidejad had a rather fruitful meeting with Nasrallah, the head of the Hezbollah, which controls most of Southern Lebanon. Iran is known to funnel weapons, money and train Hezbollah fighters.

Currently the Iranian president is in Bint Jbeil, a town in close proximity to the Israeli border. Ahmanidejad purported to be the leader of all Lebanese and not just the Shiia adherents of Hezbollah. He also promised to… you guessed it, wipe Israel off the map.
