The Israeli Mentality

The Israeli mentality of aggressive, yet sweet, is most certianly refined. Israeli humor, on the other hand, needs a lot of work. The Israeli version of Saturday Night Live, called Eretz Nehederet (Wonderful Country), recently released a clip that is actually humorous and fully encapsulates the Israeli mentality of having no peace partner, the declining left, and that the entire world is merely anti-Semitic, not understanding that Israel is the most moral country in the world. Yes, some of those views have appeared on this blog.

This political satire is both entertaining and apt, as the children of both Israelis and Palestinians are being indoctrinated by their nation’s narratives. With Israelis its that they do little wrong and the world simply can’t understand what it’s like to live under threat of terror 365 days a year. With the Palestinians its the pie-in-the-sky dream that they will one day settle in mainland Israel, where their state’s flourishing will not be hampered by the “Israeli occupation.”
