Ivory Coast Headed For Disaster

The writing that Ivory Coast is headed for catastrophe is clearly on the wall! According to the International Red Cross, approximately 800″ people were massacred in one city alone in earlier this week. The West African regional block Economic Community of West African States’ (ECOWAS) has made u-turn with regard to their bluff to use military intervention in order to force the incumbent president Laurent Gbagbo , who everybody believed lost the election, out of power. The AU’s broken diplomacy so far has produced nothing, but another stalemate. The UN mission in Ctte d’Ivoire does not have a mandate to protect the civilian population. And the international media has completely abandoned Ivory Coast in favor of the  uprising in the Middle East.

In the meantime, guarded by the UN force, Alassane Ouattara, the internationally recognized winner of the November 28 Ivory Coast’s presidential election still remains holed in the hotel.
