New term for UN's Special Rapporteur on the Right to Food

The UN Human Rights Council has authorized a new three-year mandate for Olivier De Schutter to continue as the UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Food.

The Special Rapporteur’s position was established to “…respond fully to the necessity for an integrated and coordinated approach in the promotion and protection of the right to food,” as enshrined in Article 25 of the United Nation’s Declaration of Human Rights and other documents.
