Vacay in SoCal

Forgive the silence. Mrs. FPA Africa Blog and I gave a trip to southern California to ourselves for our anniversary. We met some good friends and have been enjoying Venice Beach, Santa Monica, and it’s surrounds for the last week or so. There has been a U2 concert and lots of beach time. Tomorrow we shift to Pasadena and we look forward to a Dodgers game (baseball for my non-US readers) and the finals of the CONCACAF Gold Cup (US versus Mexico).

But on Sunday I get back to work. I’m off to my annual trip to South Africa and will be providing consistent covrage on Southern African politics, society, pop culture, and the like through mid-July.
